Software Tester - Seattle, WA & Durham, NC
One of the challenges here at Swype is making sure that the virtual keyboards we create work as we intend. And that's why we need another Tester on our team!
In a nutshell, the role is writing innovative text input software for various mobile device operating systems.
What you'll be doing:
- Testing application software on a wide variety of mobile devices. As a rule, you’ll mostly be performing black-box testing.
- Since we are a startup, you’ll probably get asked to do some other stuff, too!
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, and we have a preference towards candidates who take more of a hands-on approach to their technology and like to make their tools work better. Experience may substitute for the degree.
- Recent experience doing black-box testing.
- An interest in how and why software fails.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office software, particularly Excel.
- End-user experience in using mobile devices and other devices with touch screens.
- Flexible schedule; an ability to work more than 8 hours a day when needed.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Prefer candidates who are experienced with written languages beyond English
- Other Requirements:
- This is an hourly, part-time contract role, at $15 - 17 per hour, DOE.
- Must be able to work in an office environment.
- Local candidates only.
- Must be able to work in the U.S. - no Visa sponsorship
